Aqara has today announced the launch of its Smart Door Lock A100 Zigbee. The A100 Zigbee is a mortise-style smart lock. The smart lock has multiple access control methods, including HomeKit and Apple Home Key in the Wallet App.
The smart lock feature in my recent video about Apple Home Key. The feature allows users to tap their iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock the A100 Zigbee. The Aqara A100 allows access via a fingerprint reader, Keypad and access via the Aqara App and Home App.
The Aqara A100 Zigbee is powered using eight AA batteries, which Aqara claims will last for 18 months. If the smart lock runs out of power, you can open the lock by using the mechanical key, or by charging the lock with a power bank via the Type-C port.
They have released Aqara A100 Zigbee in select markets in Malaysia and Singapore, and they expected the availability in Southeast Asia and Middle East in the following months.
I will release a full overview vide of the Aqara A100 soon, but in the meantime you can check it out working with Apple Home Key. Don’t forget to subscribe for to be notified of the latest updates. You can also follow us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
