While not officially revealed at CES 2024, the Aqara U200 first appeared at IFA 2023. Aqara exhibited the U200 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, confirming its compatibility with HomeKit and HomeKey.

The Aqara U200 is a retrofit smart lock designed for European-style locks, akin to options like Yale, Tedee, and Nuki. Distinguishing itself, the U200 stands as the first HomeKey smart lock supporting Euro-style door lock systems.

This lock seamlessly operates with existing cylinders, necessitating no drilling or door adjustments. The smear lock will support Matter-over-Thread meaning the U200 guarantees compatibility across a broad spectrum of smart home ecosystems and devices. Utilising an Aqara NFC card or specified NFC-enabled mobile devices, unlocking becomes remarkably convenient. Additional secure access options encompass auto-unlock, fingerprints, PIN codes, and mobile apps.Aqara U200 Homekey and HomeKit

The Aqara U200 offers two models for selection. The more economical variant is powered by AA batteries, while a slightly pricier option features a rechargeable battery.

Irrespective of the chosen model, the package includes a keypad facilitating door unlocking through code input, fingerprints, or NFC cards. This keypad will also be used for HomeKey unlocking via a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch.

Aqara U200 Availability and Pricing

In the previous year, Aqara confirmed intentions to introduce the door lock for pre-order via a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. However a Aqara representative has confirmed that it will be available in the coming months. Regarding pricing, they have only hinted at aiming for a more competitive price point than the established competition.
