It would appear Aqara is on a mission to make homes safer with a series of new products aimed at improving home security and monitoring. Central to this is the Camera Hub G5 Pro, a 4MP surveillance camera designed for outdoor use. Equipped with advanced features like True Color Night Vision and on-device AI, the G5 Pro can recognise faces, vehicles, pets, and packages, offering comprehensive security coverage. Available in PoE and Wi-Fi versions, it also supports various smart home ecosystems including Apple HomeKit and HomeKit secure video, Alexa, and Google Home, along with RTSP streaming for NVRs and video servers. The built-in Zigbee 3.0 hub ensures seamless integration with other Aqara smart home devices.
Another noteworthy addition is the Garage Door Controller T2 Kit, which allows for the smart control of up to two garage doors. This device turns the often-overlooked garage into an integral part of the smart home experience. The T2 Kit provides real-time monitoring and control through various platforms, including voice assistants and mobile apps, and supports geofencing to make access even more convenient.
Aqara’s commitment to home safety extends further with the Valve Controller T1 and Smoke Detector. The Valve Controller T1 is designed to prevent water or gas leaks by automatically shutting off the systems if a leak is detected, while the Smoke Detector features an 85-decibel alarm and 10-year battery life. Both devices contribute to protecting homes from water, fire, and gas-related damages, ensuring peace of mind for homeowners.
Aqara Expanding Energy Management and Smart Lighting
In addition to security products, Aqara is expanding its range of energy management and smart lighting solutions, particularly in Europe. A new lineup of Thread-enabled wall switches—including the Light Switch H2 EU, Dimmer Switch H2 EU, and Shutter Switch H2 EU—marks the company’s latest step in integrating both Thread and Zigbee communication protocols. This dual compatibility allows users to enjoy Matter support and broad platform interoperability while still benefiting from Zigbee.
These new wall switches are designed to simplify installation for DIY users, with options for homes with or without neutral wires. By integrating energy management features, the switches help users reduce energy consumption while maintaining convenience and control.
Aqara is also expanding its smart lighting range with the introduction of the Thread-enabled LED Bulb T2. Available in both RGB and CCT versions, the LED Bulb T2 offers a wide range of lighting options, from crisp white light for productivity to vibrant colours for setting the perfect mood. The bulb series supports both Thread and Zigbee protocols, catering to a diverse range of users and ensuring compatibility with various smart home systems.
