Aqara has introduced its latest product, the Smart Lock U300, which supports both Apple Home Key and Matter over Thread.
This smart lock is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, offering a modern upgrade to traditional non-deadbolt locks by replacing levers and knobs on single-bore doors. It features Matter-over-Thread technology and Apple Home Key unlocking, ensuring easy and seamless integration with other devices.
Matter Over Thread
Built on the latest Thread protocol designed for IoT devices, the Smart Lock U300 is Matter-enabled, allowing seamless integration with Aqara’s smart home devices and third-party products. By connecting to a Thread Border Router, the U300 can be managed via any Matter-compatible platform, such as Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, Home Assistant, or SmartThings.
Apple Home Key
The U300 is one of the first smart lever locks to offer Apple Home Key functionality, enabling iOS users to unlock doors simply by tapping their iPhone or Apple Watch, even when the device has no power. The lock also offers multiple access methods, including fingerprint recognition, personalised passwords, mobile apps, voice assistants, and Aqara NFC cards. For emergencies like power outages or electronic failures, mechanical keys are also included.
Additional Features
The U300 also includes a Passage Mode for easy entry and exit, a weather-resistant design with an IPX4 rating for the outer panel, and a battery life of up to 10 months.
