Following on from the blistering record of product release in 2021, Meross, the smart home company, is back with the Meross Smart smoke alarm that works with HomeKit.
The Meross smart smoke alarm just looks like any other device of its type and comes in white. It features a 85dB siren that reacts to both increased smoke levels via a Photoelectric sensor and heat above 50°C. The smart smoke alarm has a CE EN14604 certification, which is a requirement for the EU market.
While most of Meross devices connect to the smart home via Wi-Fi. It would appear that this device requires a hub. The hub itself is connected to your smart home via Wi-Fi 2.4GHz and the connection between the hub and smoke alarm is 433MHz. Additionally, the hub supports up to 16 smart smoke alarms and if one detects smoke, they all sound together.
Power for the Meross smart smoke alarm is by 2x AA batteries that Meross claim last up to 1 year. If the battery runs low, users will get notifications via the Meross app and a chirp from the smoke alarm itself.
HomeKit smoke alarm
The Meross smart smoke alarm works with HomeKit and is exposed via the hub. This means that as well getting a notification via the built in siren. You will also get a notification via the Home App.
