The Nanoleaf Essentials range has today received an update to bring HomeKit Adaptive lighting. This follows on from the company’s promise that support would arrive this year and its refreshing to see a manufacturer delivery on a promise so quick.
Adaptive lighting in HomeKit works when the user enables this feature by tapping the icon with a sun within the lighting controls in the Home App. This then enables the smart light to change colour of a light throughout the day. The light starts with warm colours in a morning and becomes cooler during the day. In the evening, the lights then turn warmer with less blue to help to help with relaxation.
I have just recently reviewed the Nanoleaf essentials smart bulb and the Nanoleaf Essentials smart light strip. I found them to be great value for money and performed very well, so don’t forget to checkout those reviews.
To update the Nanoleaf Essentials range to the latest firmware to enable HomeKit adaptive lighting, then follow these steps
- Open the Nanoleaf app
- Tap on the Three dots on the bottom bar
- Tap firmware updates
- Tap update
