Neato’s D8, D9, D10 robot vacuums announced with Siri Shortcuts

Neato Robotics has launched a new line in its robot vacuum range, Neato D10, D9, and D8 premium. While these new models do not offer HomeKit support, they support Siri Shortcuts like previous models.

Neato has been around for sometime as one of the leading robot vacuum companies. As with previous models, you can control the Neato cleaners with a companion app available for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The App gives you control over cleaning models, set schedules, and even see where the robot has been via a map.

I have owned the Neato D5 for just over 2 years and while it was expensive, it’s not been a purchase I regretted. We set the D5 to work on a schedule and it just goes off each day and cleans the floor. I also like the fact the company continues to update the products and last year they introduced virtual no go lines. This feature gives you the ability to set virtual no go lines in your home, I use this for an area around where I keep my feeding and water bowls for the dog.

While the Neato robot vacuums do not have HomeKit compatibility, which is because Apple’s smart home platform does not support vacuums yet. The Neato the app works with Siri Shortcuts, giving you the ability to control the robot with a quick press or voice.

The three new models from Neato includes the D8, D9 which offer the widest brush available in the robot vacuum market. Both models offer Wi-Fi connectivity and work via the Neato companion app.

The Neato D8, D9 and D10 includes the company’s LaserSmart technology to improve its effectiveness in low-light situations. But each model offers a slightly better performing filter and battery run time.

The Neato D8 offers a 90-minute runtime. It also includes an extra-wide brush and a large dirt bin compared to previous models. This helps to to minimise the number of times it needs to be emptied.

The D9 features an ultra-performance HEPA-style filter, which can capture 99.5% of dust and allergens. Its runtime is up to 120 minutes, allows it to handle larger workspaces.

The top-of-the-range Neato D10 extends the runtime to 150 minutes. It also features a True HEPA filter captures up to 99.7% of allergens as small as 0.3 microns.

Neato will ship the new Neato models,  D10, D9, and D8 later this year in North America, Europe, and Japan. Pricing has yet to be announced, but you can also follow us on TwitterFacebookYouTube and Instagram to find out more.
