Netatmo has announced that its outdoor camera range will get a firmware update to bring HomeKit Secure Video. This update will start rolling out in the coming days and will be available for the siren and without versions.
The Netatmo Smart Outdoor Camera has been around for sometime now and I have reviewed both the siren and without. So the inclusion of HomeKit Secure Video will be a welcome improvement for suers of this camera.
Additionally, the company has said that the Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell will also get HomeKit Secure Video “Soon.” Although no timeframe has been given on this.
In order to use HomeKit Secure Video, you need a relevant iCloud plan over 200GB. Plus you need a HomeKit hub like the HomePod, HomePod Mini or the Apple TV.
Netatmo says the update will start rolling out over the next couple of days. While you cannot force an update via the Netatmo Security app. You can check by going into settings and the selecting the relevant camera.
You can buy the Netatmo Smart outdoor camera with Siren for around $340/£240 and the one without for $228/£204 from Amazon.

The only reason they are able to sell their overpriced product is that Logitech does not sell their doorbell in Europe. I guess ‘soon’ means when this will not be the case anymore… Very kind of them 😀
