If a recently discovered FCC filing is anything to go by, it looks like the Netatmo smart video doorbell may be released on the 30th March 2020. The HomeKit Secure Video enabled doorbell was first announced at CES 2019, but it looks like customers could get their hands on it soon.
The FCC filing first spotted by a Reddit user, has all the references to previous test reports and photos. However, the interesting bit of information is the confidentially request. This request asks for the internal photos and user manual to be kept from public view for 45 days from the grant of equipment authorisation, with the expiry being 30th March 2020.
While this could purely be a date in which Netatmo has requested for other reasons, in my experiences of these FCC filings. This type of request would normally indicate a release date around that time.
Netatmo has already confirmed the Smart Video Doorbell will feature a 160-degree field of view with 1080P recording. It has a 2 megapixel camera with 5x zoom and night vision via an infrared LED. It is a wired video doorbell and will be weather resistant.
The Video doorbell will come with a Micro SD card and will support up to 32GB. It will also support Apple HomeKit and HomeKit Secure Video at launch.
While this information points towards a release of the Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell. Netatmo is still yet to officially confirm.
