Nuki, who is best known for its smart lock that works with HomeKit, recently revealed the White limited edition of its smart lock and Powerpack. Now it looks like they are close to releasing the Nuki Smart door.

Images first spotted by SmartApfel.de, in the Nuki App earlier today, give little away in terms of specs. But, based on the images with the label “Nuki INSIDE” the new product is possibly a standard door with the Nuki Lock 2.0 integrated right into it. Which could help reduce the bulk that users often complain about with retrofit smart lock.Nuki smart door HomeKitClicking on the image takes you to a further screen to set up the Smart Door with several options. The first being “Set up Smart Door” and one would assume this is for a first time set up. Then an option for “Enter invitation code” and this option is assumably for setting up additional users with the smart door. The app also has a “Buy Smart Door” link, but this link does not work.

While the Nuki app makes no reference to Apple HomeKit support. It would be a safe bet that the Nuki Smart door will support HomeKit, given the company’s existing smart locks support this feature.

Nuki Smart door release

While Nuki is yet to comment on the release date and cost. I have been told via 3 independent sources that the Nuki Smart Door will only be available via third party installers. This would make sense, given the company launched its install service last month. Plus, it will only be available in selected EU countries, which includes Germany. I have reached to my contact at Nuki for further details and will update this article if get more details on the Nuki Smart Door.
