Reports suggest Eufy Video Doorbell gains HomeKit support

Early reports are coming in that the eufy Video Doorbell has gained HomeKit Support. This is following a user on the HomeKit Subreddit u/Diellur claiming that the doorbell appeared in the Home App following a reset. The user also suggested that they was also had the option to enable HomeKit Secure Video.

Earlier this month reports surfaced suggesting the Video Doorbell will gain HomeKit support by the end of June. At the time I reached out to Eufy for comment and was told, “we talked with Apple about this potential opportunity a few weeks ago and everything is still under discussion.”

But now it would appear that HomeKit support has been rolled out to at least one user. The Reddit user appears to back up the claim with an image of a doorbell in HomeKit. But I would caution about getting overly excited at this point as some users reported last week HomeKit Secure Video support for the Eufycam 2 and 2c.  While some users had got the update, myself included. It would appear this was a false start as when I reached out to eufy, I was told that the roll-out had not yet started.
