Aqara’s new Curtain Driver E1, which is a retrofit solution to automate traditional curtains and supports HomeKit, is now available. The the E1 connects via Zigbee 3.0 and features a battery life of up to 12 months.
The Curtain Driver comes with two versions – the Rod Version for rods and the Track Version for U-rails and I-rails. If you have two sets of curtains, both devices can be grouped so that double-sided curtains can be controlled simultaneously.
In terms of the smarts, the E1 supports HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Home/ Google Assistant, and IFTTT, as well as the upcoming Matter standard. The 6000mAh battery lasts for up to 12 months abd can be charged via the Type-C port. The Aqara E1 Curtain controller is equipped with a built-in light sensor, allowing the curtain to close on its own when it’s too bright or too dark.

The Aqara E1 Curtain controller is available on Amazon in both North America and Europe (UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain), as well as via selective Aqara retailers worldwide.
