Netatmo has finally revealed a new generation of smart thermostats. The lineup includes the Thermostat Original and Radiator Thermostat Original, adding Matter support through a dedicated hub, which means Apple Home support.
Netatmo says the new range is designed to be quicker to fit, broadly compatible, and simpler to manage day to day.
The Thermostat Original will be sold in two versions, a wired wall mounted model and a wireless option, so you can choose the setup that suits your home. Netatmo claims installation can be done in under 30 minutes, with support for gas and oil boilers, air to water heat pumps, and wood or pellet stoves.
Matter support via Thermo Hub
The headline upgrade is Matter support, but it comes through the included Thermo Hub. Rather than building Matter directly into the thermostat, the hub works as a bridge between Netatmo’s own wireless system and major platforms including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings. Netatmo’s pitch is that this gateway approach delivers wider compatibility while keeping the system stable, even if some competitors offer native Matter devices.
Netatmo has not confirmed if they will support Apples intelligent energy controls like found in the Aqara W200.
A new app direction
Netatmo is also retiring its long running Energy app, moving thermostat control into the Home + Control app used across Legrand’s wider ecosystem. Features include Eco Assist using geolocation, custom schedules, and alerts for system issues. The goal is a single place to manage heating alongside other connected devices such as lighting and shutters, cutting down on app clutter.
Pricing and availability
The wired wall mounted Thermostat Original is priced at €140, with the wireless version at €149.99. Netatmo has not confirmed pricing for the Radiator Thermostat Original yet, but it is expected to launch in early 2026.
