LG has today released the Apple TV app for owners of LG 2018 OLED and UHD smart TVs. Additionally, the company has confirmed that Homekit and AirPlay2 is still coming to LG 2018 TV’s later this year.
The app previously launched on 2019 and 2020 models from LG allows you to enjoy content from Apple TV+. Plus rent and buy content available in the iTunes store.
The other good news is that LG has stated that the company remains committed to adding HomeKit and AirPlay 2 support to these 2018 models. Although they didn’t give a time frame, other than it will arrive by the end of the year.
Customers worldwide can now enjoy the Apple TV app on LG 2018 OLED and Super UHD TVs, with UHD TV models to follow. LG's 2018 TVs will add support for Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit later this year, and more details will be shared when these features become available

This will be welcome news after the same LG UK twitter account announced that they had no plans to update its pre-2019 TVs with Airplay2 or Homekit, which has since been deleted. But with the fresh tweet from the company, this will be welcome news for the LG 2018 users.
