Eve Systems is attending IFA 2022 in Berlin and making it known with demonstration of the new smart home standard Matter. But they have also revealed a new product, the Eve Shutter Switch. In addition, the Eve Outdoor Cam will be available in a white later this year.
Matter
Eve home is showing the control of its own products via different platforms for the first time. Previously devices could be controlled only via HomeKit, but thanks to the new Matter standard thats about to change. Soon users will be able to control them via Amazon Alexa, Google Home. This will open up Eve devices to a whole new user base.
Eve shutter switch
Eve Home will soon offer a roller shutter control for existing motors from December. The new smart device will also work with Apple HomeKit via Bluetooth or Thread and will be only available in Europe.
Eve Shutter Switch converts an existing in-wall roller shutter switch into an automated shading solution. Thanks to autonomous schedules, you can have your shutters open and close automatically. Using Apple Home automations based on a light sensor like the one in Eve Motion you can even make your roller shutter respond to sunlight.
More options for Eve Motion Blinds
Eve MotionBlinds for Venetian is designed for both tilting and lifting wood and aluminum blinds. Eve MotionBlinds for Honeycomb feature a motor for high-performing cellular shades with excellent insulating properties.
The Venetian blinds will be Europe only and both will be available later this year via motionblinds.com/eve.
Eve Outdoor Cam White Edition
Eve Home will offer the Eve Outdoor camera in white from December. The White Edition remains unchanged from a feature set point of view.
The camera will work exclusively with HomeKit secure Video when used with a Apple TV or HomePod acting as a Home hub. Which means the camera can recognise people, animals, vehicles and packages.
Eve Light Switch for North America
The third generation of Eve Light Switch adds not only support for Thread but it is also no longer limited to rooms with single-pole switches. It will now replace 3-way switches too. Turn your lights on or off via the Home App or Siri. Eve Light Switch can act as a router node in your Thread network, enhancing its stability and reach.
