At CES 2023, Nanoleaf has introduced new smart home products that are compatible with Matter and Apple Home. From the Sense+ Controls line made up of intelligent switches and bridges to the 4D TV Screen Mirror Camera & Light strips Kit and Skylight modular ceiling fixture.
Nanoleaf 4D – TV Screen Mirror Camera and light strips Smarter Kit
First up is the Nanoleaf 4D which takes your home entertainment to an entirely new level. With the TV Smarter Kit, you can experience movies and video games come alive with four distinct Screen Mirror modes that offer unparalleled personalization in sync with a Matter-compatible Smart Addressable Light strip up to 5M long featuring 50 addressable zones across its length.
With the Nanoleaf TV Kit and Light strip, you can transport yourself to a new dimension of home entertainment. The camera offers flexibility with its ability to be set up at both the top or bottom of your television for convenience in setup. Similarly, snap-on brackets and adhesives that come included simplify installation for even greater ease-of-use. Moreover, Sync+ technology enables Screen Mirroring for your entire Nanoleaf devices.
Nanoleaf 4D TV Smarter Kit is launching Q2 2023, and will be available in two length options suitable for TV size 55”-65” and 65”-85”.
Nanoleaf Sense+ lighting controls and “Nala” Automation assistant
Nanoleaf’s Sense+ Controls line empowers users to personalize the entire home’s illumination. Matter enabled and running on Thread technology, this cutting-edge product suite boasts three must-have devices: Smart Light Switch (hardwired), Wireless Smart Light Switch and Nala Learning Bridge. The latter also functions as a color shifting night light while simultaneously serving as an Thread Border Router.
With Nanoleaf’s Sense+ products and the Nala Learning Assistant, users can enjoy a truly intelligent experience with their smart lighting. Nala learns preferences from everyday usage and routines to create tailored automations that turn lights on/off as needed, adjust brightness levels based user preference, select Scenes for ambiance control.
Nala’s automated learning technology is enabled via the Nala Learning Bridge; existing Nanoleaf Thread Border Routers will also be upgradeable to work as a Nala Bridge.
Nanoleaf says the three new products will arrive in Q3 of 2023 and according to the Verge. Nanoleaf is aiming for around $20 for the button/wireless switch and $50 for the hard-wired switch.
Nanoleaf Skylight – Smart Modular Flush Mount Ceiling Fixture
Nanoleaf is revolutionizing the ceiling fixture industry with their innovative Skylight product that works with Matter. The new light product allows users to completely customise its design by replacing the existing light fixing and replacing with one panel. The modular RGBW LED panels can be arranged into countless patterns for an unprecedented level of personalization – bringing a whole new dimension to your home’s lighting environment.
Nanoleaf Skylight offers users crisp, functional white light for everyday use and over 16 million dynamic colors to create the perfect ambient lighting. It is tailored with advanced smart features that allow you to adjust brightness, explore various color options and temperatures, as well as set Schedules. Moreover, this modular ceiling fixture comes equipped pre-loaded with Nanoleaf’s iconic Rhythm Music Visualizer, Screen Mirroring capabilities alongside numerous Scenes!
The Nanoleaf Skylight will work via Wi-Fi and will also act as a Thread Border Router. It has built in Sense+ sensors enabling motion/ambient light sensing. Nanoleaf will launch Q3 2023.
Matter updates
Previously announced at the Matter event in Amsterdam, the Matter-certified Essentials Bulbs (A19, BR30, GU10 and a Recessed Downlight) and light strip will arrive in Q1.
The original Essentials line — a standard light bulb and light strip — worked exclusively with Apple HomeKit over Thread. The new lineup will not include a separate Apple Home certification. so while they work with Matter and be exposed to Apple Home Which means they will lack features such as Apple’s Adaptive Lighting.
Finally, good news for existing owners of the Shapes, Elements, Canvas and Lines. Nanoleaf’s full line of modular light panels and light bars will also be Matter upgradeable later this year. Nanoleaf will offer a software update to its existing product line up.
