Following Roku’s announcement in September that several of its streaming products would support HomeKit and AirPlay2. The company has now released Roku OS 9.4 to delivery on that promise.
The update brings Apple AirPlay2 and HomeKit support to select Roku devices. Which include the Roku Ultra, Roku Streambar, Roku Smart Soundbar, Roku Streaming Stick+, and Roku Premiere. Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit is expected to be rolled out to 4K Roku TV models over this weekend.
HomeKit support for Roku devices allows customers to easily and securely control their Roku device with their voice using the Home app and Siri on an iOS device, HomePod, HomePod mini, Mac or Apple Watch. Additionally, with AirPlay2 Roku users can stream, control and share their favourite content directly from their iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Availability
The update is available via a free firmware update for existing customers. New users wanting to get in on the action can buy the Roku Ultra, Roku Streambar, Roku Smart Soundbar, Roku Streaming Stick+, and Roku Premiere from Amazon.

Just bought 3 roku premiere to use as airplay 2.
After firmware upgrade i realized that though airplay 2 works, volume control isn’t working for roku in airplay 2.
I contacted roku and they said volume control is only available in their new sound bar and wireless speakers.
I think everyone should know that. I wouldn’t have bought it if I knew this is the situation.
