Eve Systems has begun the roll out of of HomeKit adaptive lighting to its Eve Light Strip. The feature first announced by Apple back at WWDC 20 will automatically adjust the hue of the light throughout the day.
Apple announced Adaptive Lighting as part of changes to HomeKit as part of the iOS14 update. The feature works by adapting the light colour of a light throughout the day. The lamp starts with warm colours in a morning and becomes cooler during the day. In the evening, the lights then turn warmer with less blue to help to help with relaxation.
To enable Adaptive lighting,
- Open the Eve app
- Tap on Settings
- Tap Accessories and choose the Eve Light Strip
- Tap on Details and upgrade the firmware
- Then head over to the Home App and you will be presented with an adaptive lighting setup process.
- Once setup, head over to the Eve Light strip and click on the sun icon to enable it.
You need a HomeKit Hub, such as an Apple TV, HomePod, HomePod mini or iPad to use the feature.
